This beautifully converted property
perfectly combines the traditions of the characterful old olive mill
with sleek, modern interiors, set in relaxing surrounds with the
Tramuntana mountains to one side and Port de Sóller the other.
This is an exceptional property, seemingly blending high-tech luxury with the traditional architecture. The interiors of this wonderful property perfectly combine with the beauty of the old olive mill, with ultra-modern contemporary fixtures and furnishings that would grace any interior design magazine. Luxuries include plasma television, cinema screen and lap-top computer, whilst the attention to detail here is highlighted in the kitchen, complete with wine temperature regulator. Outside there are wonderful terraces where everyone can enjoy meals illuminated by star light, and there are also plenty of smaller nooks to loose oneself in and curl up with a favourite book. The large pool is a constant temptation offering welcome relief from the warm Mallorcan sunshine. A smaller property is attached to the back of the house with its owner entrance lived in by a quiet, discrete couple. The villa is completely private and secluded from this. Located in one of the most spectacular parts of the island, the charming towns of Soller and Port de Sóller sit in citrus groves, between the sea and the beautiful Tramuntana mountain range. From Sóller you can take the vintage train to Palma for the day, or visit the pretty town of Deià. Cap Formentor offers spectacular scenery as the Tramuntana appear to rise straight out of the sea, whilst nearby Lluc is the spiritual heart of marvellous Mallorca. Description
Port de Sóller is a
tourist resort which curves round a
natural harbour; this is one of few safe havens for sailors seeking
refuge on the north coast of Mallorca, and the spectacular nature of
the bay can be fully appreciated by taking a boat trip from the port.
You can reach the resort on the old tram which runs along the 5 km
route from Sóller village, which lies slightly inland; the tram
is used
by hundreds of tourists every day, most of whom come to the Valley of
Sóller by train from Palma de Mallorca.
Owing to the fact that Port de Sóller receives many visitors, there is a wide range of restaurants and shops. There are also several hotels, offering accommodation in a peaceful and relaxing resort within a spectacular setting. In the cooler months outside the height of the season the hotels of Port de Sóller fill with visitors who come to enjoy walking trips in the area. There is a lighthouse on
each side of the bay entrance. It is
possible to reach the lighthouse of El Far del Cap Gros, from where
there are excellent views along the coast, via a road that leads off to
the left before reaching Port de Sóller. Shortly after entering
Port de
Sóller, on the left you´ll find the beach of Platja
d´en Repic, which
has a wide promenade. On the right, where the tram makes its first
stop, is the 16th century fort of Torre de l´Alcaid (also known
as
Castell del Port), which was built to protect the coast from pirate
attacks, just like the watchtower of Torre Picada above the cliffs on
the right-hand side of the bay. At the shoreline is the fishing port
and the district of Santa Catalina, which is a unique spot where
fishermen used to live. This zone includes the Oratory of Sant Ramon de
Penyafort, which is a rectangular building with a barrel-vault roof
that was constructed in the 17th century. At the end of the street
of
Carrer de Santa Catalina is the small Oratory of Santa Catalina, which
was constructed in the 13th century, and La Miranda de Santa Catalina,
which is a great spot for taking in spectacular views over the
coastline of Sóller.
The sandy beach of La
Platja d´en Repic, which is located on the
left-hand side of the bay, is 300 m long and 30 m wide. It is away from
the centre of the town and its pedestrian-only promenade helps to
create a very relaxed atmosphere.
Services; Bars and restaurants, lifeguards, shops, sun loungers and parasols for hire. The beach of La Platja d´es Través runs along the central part of Port de Sóller as for as the port, where the tram station is located. It is a sandy beach which is 700 m long and 25 m wide. Services; Bars and restaurants, lifeguards, shops, sun loungers and parasols for hire.
